The Aims of upBEAT

• Teach, encourage and develop the artistic skills of young people in and around the London area – for example, but not limited to – Dance, Drama, Spoken Word, Physical Theatre and other creative forms.
• Run workshops, classes and stage performances in schools, youth services or other venues in and around the London area.
• Work on young people’s social and civil skills through Mentoring, Key Work and Group Work.
• Enable individual young people to progress into employment in the Performing Arts, should they choose this career path.
• Provide a wide range of creative workshops and sessions at low or zero cost for financially challenged communities.
• Take performances by young people further afield.
• Undertake fundraising activities in order to enable the company to continue to provide the above.
