The team is a dynamic group of highly successful professionals, each with a unique skillset acquired through years of experience in development and the arts. Their fields of practice range from the West End, through Pineapple Dance Studio and the Brit School, to Youth Inclusion work. Simon
UpBEAT has been conceived and founded by Simon Champagnie. Born and bred in London’s tough East End, he himself has personally experienced and come through some of the most challenging difficulties that young people are now facing. He has 10 years experience of working with young offenders and managing projects with the Youth Justice Board. He has been instrumental in turning around the lives of many young people. He has a passion and specialism in dance.
Madeleine
Secondary school teacher and married to the Founder, Simon. Her role in upBEAT is Treasurer and Co-Director of the project.
